Born
in Oldham, England on 10 November
1962, Michael Stott left school
at the age of 16 to become an apprentice
boiler maker with local firm William
Arnold, where he remained for 5
years. At the age of 21, he joined
Isaac Websters, a local firm of
stainless steel process engineers,
where he gained expertise in all
facets of metal work, engineering
and fabrication over a period of
15 years. Through this experience
and an overwhelming desire to be
creative, Steel Dreams was born.
Michael has always
sought to create forms which traditionally
have been avoided, either due to
technical difficulty, perceived
impossibility or being economically
unviable. This uncompromising attitude
towards his art has made his work
highly sought after in many circles,
and most who view his work agree,
he truly creates, 'Steel Dreams'. |
